Preface

Because of the little resources and time devoted to reveal the culture, traditions, and the communities of historical cities, Tripoli - alFayha'a - is still a city that is unknown for large factions of people. Lots of efforts and work has to be devoted to correct this mistake and it is mainly the responsibility of the Municipality of Tripoli to achieve that.

Devotions and commitments are not restricted to central or local officials, on the contrary, different groups should form a chain to cooperate and serve their deep-rooted city. Specialists are the most important mediators to reveal the cultural and touristic importance of historical cities and in-charge officials should lead the projects of reviving those cities and sensitizing the masses.

As a sponsor for this guide, The Municipality of Tripoli aims at introducing Tripoli - the living museum - and the necessary role of historians to reveal the historical values and monumental treasures of the city. The Municipality of Tripoli also believes that cooperation with the local community is a necessity to plan a scientific and sincere strategy to achieve this national service.
