Brief Notes

The Tell Clocktower is one of the most significant features of Tripoli. It was built in 1901-1902 by the Ottoman Sultan Abdulhamid as a gift to the citizens of Tripoli when he celebrated his 25th anniversary as an Ottoman Sultan. It was renovated and lighted in 1995 due to the efforts of the Honorary Turkish Consulate of Tripoli at that time Mr. Soubhi el-Akkari. It is a stony construction made of 5 floors of a complete height of 30 meters.
